Individual Psychological Therapy

Clinic Status: Accepting Referrals

You may be seeking therapy for a number of different reasons or with one particular concern in mind. In order to help you most effectively, I offer an initial assessment, which will be focused on understanding your concerns in context. We will discuss some of your past and present experiences that may be contributing to your distress. You may also be asked to complete some general screening measures to help gain further clarity on goals for therapy.

We will also spend some time highlighting personal strengths and how these can be nurtured further. After this initial assessment phase, we will discuss a therapy plan and the number of anticipated sessions moving forward. I use evidence-based therapy approaches that have proven to be effective. However my approach to psychotherapy explores understanding your issue, identifying what could be maintaining the problem and then focusing on developing alternative strategies for coping which you would be encouraged to practice.

Below are a few examples (but not limited to) of difficulties where I am able to offer treatment. Please note that many people may not find it easy to identify or label their difficulty. If you are unsure then we can discuss this during an initial assessment.
